What Is Squadron 42?
Squadron 42 is a cinematic single-player space adventure by Cloud Imperium Games. It shares a universe with Star Citizen but is a separate game. Players join the United Empire of Earth Navy as a rookie and take part in story missions aboard spacecraft with their crews.
The planned campaign combines space dogfighting, first-person combat, shipboard life, and exploration. CIG has estimated more than 40 hours of gameplay; Steam currently lists Q2 2027, with no public demo.
